Master Carl Vonck started training in 1995 at the age of 6 in Marquette, MI. Master Vonck has been teaching for 11 years. He has participated in local, regional and national tournaments. In 2000, Vonck participated in the Dan Shim Sa, a testing for the rank of Cho Dan (1st Degree). In 2001, he attended Moment with the Masters and trained with instructors from all across the country including the Kwan Jang Nim (Grandmaster). In 2003, Vonck became the second person in the USA to earn Jo Kyo, a level of instructor certification. In October 2005, Master Vonck earned his Sam Dan (3rd Degree). He has attended every regional tournament and testing since 2008. Attended Ko Dan Ja Shim Sa (8-day Master testing) in 2010 and was promoted to Sa Dan (4th degree). His instructor is Russ Hanke Sa Bom Nim, Gu Dan (9th Degree).

Sa Bom Nim Hanke has been studying the martial arts since 1960, and has been teaching for over 45 years. He has continued to study Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan since the inception of our art in the United States. His first instructor was Master Dale Drouillard, the first American to receive the rank of Dan. Sa Bom Nim Hanke's current instructor is the President of our art Kwan Jang Nim H.C. Hwang, son of our late Founder, Kwan Jang Nim Hwang Kee. He is a Charter Member of our organization and has served on the Board of Directors and Technical Advisory Committee. Currently, Sa Bom Nim Hanke is a member of the Senior Advisory Committee (S.A.C).

Sa Bom Nim Ron Strong began training in 1994 and has been teaching regularly since 1997. He attained the rank of Cho Dan (first degree) in 1998. In 2000 Sa Bom Nim Strong established a Soo Bahk Do Summer Camp that is held annually at Bay Cliff Health Camp bringing in Master Instructors from around the country. In 2002 Sa Bom Nim Strong was promoted to Ee Dan (2nd degree) and earned Kyo Sa (Certified Instructor). In 2006 he was promoted to Sam Dan (3rd degree) and in 2011 Sa Dan (4th degree) and Sa Bom (Certified Master Instructor). In 2011 Sa Bom Nim Strong was appointed to the US Soo Bahk Do Federation Board of Directors. His instructor is Russ Hanke Sa Bom Nim, Gu Dan (9th degree).
